Travelling to Brayton
The Brayton Academy has a wide catchment area with students attending from around Selby, Brayton and the surrounding villages and there are many different ways to travel to school to make sure that you arrive safely and on time. The information below is designed to help you with some of the different transport methods available and the following page provides details about the school buses.
On foot
Many of our students live within a mile of Brayton and use this to their advantage by taking the healthy option and walking to school. Being aware of the dangers associated with busy road networks like the Doncaster Road and practising good road safety is the key to enjoying this practical transport method.
Cycle
A growing number of our students cycle to school, taking advantage of the bicycle sheds at the side of the academy. We do ask that students wear cycle helmets whilst cycling to and from the academy and they also bring personal locks to chain their bicycle to the secure shed area. Please be aware that bicycles and scooters must not be ridden on the academy site.
By car
Please drop your child outside the academy site. Vehicles must not enter the academy site as parking is limited to staff only and moving vehicles on site pose a health and safety risk to students. We would ask you to park responsibly. When dropping of students’ parents/carers should not use the school entrance as a turning area.
By bus
All school buses to Brayton Academy are arranged through North Yorkshire County Council.
